We had a reasonable drive down on Friday evening and arrived at 8.30, just as the midges were gathering strength. They were annoying for a couple of hours while we put up our tent, next to Nick, Theresa, Ben and Pip. The campsite is great - nice flat fields beside the upper reaches of the river Exe which is just right for kids to paddle in. Simon had the barbecue going and with ~12 families staying we chatted around the fire until late on Friday.

We spent most of the weekend on site. The boys played with the other kids, paddling in the stream and riding bikes. I went out for a quick run on Saturday afternoon, up the river to Warren Farm bridge
and back along the edge of Elsworthy . The party went on into the night on Saturday, with added tequilla, guitar and singing.Sun 17 Jul 2005
