Ready to Go5 June 1998 Bristol Everything seems to be in order for our departure tomorrow. We've made a successful transmission of text and pictures via the satellite phone and all our freighted gear has arrived safely in Greenland. The weather there is fine at the moment, with only one day of high winds and snow in the last three weeks. Mark and Sean are flying from Heathrow, Simon and Ruth from Glasgow. We will meet up in Reykjavik on Saturday evening and then have three days to try to see some of Iceland, before flying north-west to Constable Point on the east coast of Greenland. Just to make sure that things are not perfect, Mark snagged his finger whilst getting dressed this morning. A visit to casualty revealed that he had torn a tendon and he must not bend it for six weeks. "No sledge hauling for me then."We'll get in touch and send some pictures from Iceland. | |||
