An open canoe trip with Howie from Bridge Sollers
near Hay-on-Wye to Monmouth .I finished work at lunchtime on Friday and we drove up to Bridge Sollers, leaving my car at Monmouth. We launched just before it got dark and paddled a few miles before camping. The river was flooded and there was snow on the ground. On Saturday we continued and made such good time that we realised we could just reach Monmouth that day before dusk.
